My friend Jane has effectively changed the
way I shop. What better than the fashion capital of the world to make this
happen. There are huge sales in January and February in France, so we
methodically would go shopping every week. Not only to purchase items, but also
to people watch and learn more about the latest fashion trends. As she would
always say, “there’s no need to buy, just look at all the different styles”. We
spent a lot of time in the Le Marais
area, known to have many little boutiques. Sandro, Maje, Wolford, Zadig &
Voltaire are just some of the shops we frequented. Half the fun is just ambling
through the tiny stoned streets and randomly entering stores as something in
the window catches your eye. Looking at
each piece in the boutiques, we try on many of the hottest new fashions, partly
for the fun of it, and partly knowing that once you put on something you love,
you’ll likely buy it. How can I go shopping in malls in the US after shopping
on the streets of Paris while noticing all the women who walk by in the most
stylish of clothes?
