How do you control an unruly crowd that just wants to dance?
You say If you wanna dance,
then dance on your chair! And that’s exactly what we did. INSEAD is famous
for their National Weeks, where students from a particular country or region
showcase the culture and food from their home. This week is Heart of Europe
Week (Switzerland, Germany, & Austria). Festivities included chocolate
tasting, a dinner, and storming of the amphitheaters during class. We were
greeting with shots and monstrous glasses of beer at the HoE week dinner. The
men were wearing leaderhausen and
women in traditional dresses, and the cafeteria was decorated with Bavarian
flags and stacks of hay in front of the band. The cafeteria was transformed!
They played the lasted German pop as well as some classics; it was fabulous to
see the students go wild. On the dinner menu was various meats, including
weinerschintzel, and famous apple streudel for dessert. Only here could I get a
taste of European culture from fellow classmates while getting piss drunk and
dancing up a storm.
